Assistive Technology

Throughout the admissions process, our focus is always on you and your child. Our two main objectives are to share information about our school services with families and professionals, and to work to determine if a student will be an appropriate fit for our school.

We realize that each student has a different learning style and unique skill set, and our priority is to help meet the individual needs of each student accepted into our program.

Our school is fully certified by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Assistive Technology

Increasingly, we rely on technology to function in every aspect of daily life. Lack of access to technology for those with disabilities widens a pre-existing gap in accessing activities across all life areas, including educational, vocational, and social. For those reasons, we believe access to assistive technology (AT) is a right for all people with disabilities. AT is used for a broad spectrum of functions and purposes.

AT and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) Evaluations and Services

We offer collaborative, effective, evidence-based AT and AAC evaluation and intervention for children and adults of all ages and abilities. We are experts in working with autistic learners and their families and support teams. In addition to evaluation, we offer device set-up and programming as well as ongoing training and education.

What sets us apart?

AT interventions typically fail because of a lack of stakeholder buy-in and education. What sets our services apart is our comprehensive approach. We are experts in collaborative AAC evaluation and the specific needs of individuals with I/DD. We incorporate industry standard frameworks to provide an assessment that is client-driven, collaborative, effective, and culturally and linguistically competent. We prioritize self-advocacy and determination and engage as many stakeholders as possible in the process, offering ongoing stakeholder education.
